Abigail’s alternate personalities were based on people Abigail knew and admired on Days of Our Lives. The one that seemed to surface the most often called herself “Gabby”, and was based on Abigail’s best friend at the time, Gabi Hernandez (Camilla Banus). As Gabby acclimated herself to the DiMera mansion, Chad was dealing with his newly discovered brother, Stephan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash).

Although Stefan claimed to simply want a family, he took the CEO Position at DiMera Enterprises away from Chad as well as ownership of the DiMera mansion. It became obvious that Stefan enjoyed taking the things Chad loved away from him.

Days of Our Lives spoilers show Stefan hit on Abigail a few times but she wasn’t interested and made that clear to Stefan. But Gabby was another story. It wasn’t long before Gabby and Stefan were having an affair and making plans to be together. This was obviously difficult for Chad to deal with. Stefan is dead and buried now, but his identical twin brother Jake Lambert (also Brandon Barash) is now living in the mansion as well, and thanks to Gwen and her manipulations, Chad thinks Jake and Abigail are having an affair, but that is just simply not true.

DOOL Spoilers – Chad DiMera and Abigail DiMera Have Barely Had A Moment’s Happiness!

After everything they have been through. Chad’s infidelity with Gwen could end up being the final straw. They faced the wrath of the real Gabi, moved to Paris and were both tempted to cheat, and even got past it together when Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) hypnotized Chad into complete subservience to “Steveano” (Stephen Nichols).

Marriage in never supposed to easy but it shouldn’t be this difficult either. And if they are this unhappy most of the time, their kids will pick up on it as well. But they both will need to be honest with themselves as well as each. Is what they have worth it? It may just be that the answer is “No”.
