After all, Alex has to find a way to vent his frustration. Alex can’t do it to Chad because Stephanie will get upset. Alex doesn’t have a relationship with Stephanie anymore, so he can’t vent to her. Now Alex also has the frustration of being dismissed by Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) and Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) taking his wife’s side.

So, Alex’s anger might be building and Leo is the target.

It’s possible that Alex threatens Leo. Now, Leo would just strike back if Alex threatens physical violence. That could result in Leo agreeing to publish a retraction, which would impress Stephanie.
