Allie learns all about Rafe losing baby David and has a lot of empathy for him. Rafe and Allie are close and he was a father figure to her growing up. He is also one of the few people who is judging Allie or trying to tell her what to do. She feels comfortable and safe talking to Rafe. Once she discovers his painful loss and how he already dreamed of being a father, she makes a surprising offer.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Allie will ask Rafe to adopt her unborn baby. But what will he say? Many assume that he would jump on the chance to be a dad again. However, his wounds from losing David are still fresh and raw. He might not be ready to care for another child yet. He is still grieving losing custody of the boy he loved as his own.

There is also a possibility that Rafe might say no to adopting Allie’s baby out of fear. He bonded with David and the two had a close bond. He is still devastated over losing the little boy and didn’t really have time to say a proper goodbye. Rafe might fear it could happen again, especially since Allie is keeping the father’s identity a secret. Rafe can’t risk losing another child. He just might not survive it.

When Allie goes to speak to Rafe, Will and Sonny learn from Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) about the adoption plans. They had their hopes up and are disappointed that Allie did not pick them to be the baby’s adoptive parents. So, they start to come up with another plan on how to have another child.
