Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap Thursday, January 9, 2019, reveal Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) talks with Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) at the hospital. Ciara is concerned about Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) and doesn’t want to leave his side.

Ciara also wants to be with Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) who is waiting to hear about his appeal. Ciara tells Justin she was with Victor when he got sick. Justin asks Ciara about the conversation and she explains what happened. Justin tells Ciara this wasn’t her fault. Ciara blames herself for Victor’s condition. Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) arrives with an update.

Victor is resting comfortably. Justin is going to call Sonny Kiriakis (Freddy Smith). Kayla tells Justin about her confrontation with Steve Johnson/Stefano Dimera (Stephen Nichols). Kayla tells Justin that Steve is in love with another woman. Ciara goes to the chapel to pray for Victor and Ben. Justin tells Ciara the board has reached a decision.

Days of Our Lives’ Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) is praying in the hospital chapel. Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) hears him and questions his prayers. Maggie is surprised that Victor has grown to depend on Xander. Maggie hopes that Victor and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) can eventually bury the hatchet. Maggie thanks Xander for being there for her. Xander and Maggie go to see if there is any news on Victor. Xander wants Ciara to stay away from Victor.

Days of Our Lives’ Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) tells Brady that she told Kristen Dimera (Stacy Haiduk) the two of them are a couple. Nicole offers to tell her the truth but Brady stops her. Brady wants Nicole to let Kristen believe they are a couple.

Brady hopes Kristen will give up and go away. Nicole says Kristen could go away or just kill her. Brady wonders if Nicole is serious about Kristen killing her. Nicole says she did bait her. Kristen sees Brady and Nicole walking arm in arm through the square. Brady tells Kristen she is not to mess with Nicole. Brady and Nicole go to her apartment and Nicole locks the door. Nicole enjoyed rubbing their relationship in Kristen’s face.

Kristen says their father can ask her to her face. Chad tells Kristen he hasn’t seen Stefano, they have only texted back and forth. Kristen tells Chad to tell Stefano to meet her face to face or she isn’t joining anything. Chad says he will get the message to their father. Chad says their father is in no position to take over. Chad says he has worked his ass off to save this company and no one is taking it from him. Kristen goes to her hotel room and trashes it. Kristen is shocked to find Steve at her door.

Days of Our Lives’ Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) hears Steve on the phone leaving a message for Hope Brady/Princess Gina (Kristian Alfonso). Jack wants to know why Steve didn’t tell him he was back in town. Jack also questions Steve’s plan he was discussing. Steve claims to be trying to take down Stefano. Steve says Jack is the one who is the expert at the cut and run. Jack makes excuses for his lack of memories. Jack says it is different. Steve knew who he was. Steve says he thought he did what Kayla wanted. Jack tells Steve he treated Kayla like dirt. Jack and Steve continue to argue.

Steve says the only thing left between him and Kayla are their three kids. Jack says they only have two. Steve says Kayla thinks of Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) as their child. Steve wants Jack to stop asking questions. Steve accuses Jack of not caring if he catches Stefano. Jack tells Steve this won’t make up for the fact that Steve hasn’t been there for anybody. Jack says they were all better off without Steve. Steve says good riddance Deveraux. Steve waits to hear from Gina but gets a text from Chad instead. Jack tells Jennifer he thinks Steve is hiding something. Kayla tells them Victor’s surgery was a success. Jack tells Kayla about his confrontation with Steve.

Days of Our Lives Abigail Dimera (Kate Mansi) asks Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) if she’s had any updates on her case. Jennifer tells Abby that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) is keeping her posted but there have been no updates so far. Stefano and Dr. Rolf (William Utay) seem to have disappeared. Chad arrives before Jennifer leaves and hugs her before she leaves.

Chad goes to message his father and tells him they have a problem with Kristen. Chad and Abby go upstairs. Chad thinks they should skip dinner more often. Stefano texts Chad back and says he will deal with Kristen himself.
