Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Bryan Datillo Teases Lucas Horton’s DOOL Return

Bryan Datillo is excited to share that he is once again reprising his role as Lucas Horton on “Days of Our Lives” in May. It is still unknown if his return is only short term and nobody knows how many episodes he will be in.

Even with these uncertainties, one thing is for sure, Bryan is extremely excited to be back. In an interview with Soaps.com, he teased that his character will return to Salem because of the declining health of a relative. It will most likely be his son Will Horton (Chandler Massey). “Days of Our Lives Viewers” may recall that Will recently found out that he has a brain tumor and that could very well be the reason behind Datillo’s return.

Datillo shared that during his last departure from “Days of Our Lives” in 2018, he really thought that was it. But when Julie (Susan Seaforth-Hayes) told him that “This will always be your home,” he thought ‘Well, maybe the door’s open.’ I definitely was surprised, but pleasantly.”

In June 2018, Bryan Datillo tweeted, “25 years. 2 months. 12 days. And 4 hours. Good run. Thanks to my Days family and fans. Enjoy Lucas while you can.” His character has been off screen more often since he debuted his character Lucas in 1993. Despite that, his exit from the soap still came as a shock to many especially since he just started a new storyline with Nadia Bjorlin, who plays Chloe Lane.

After his departure, he came back to the soap after a few months to deal with some unfinished business with Chloe and then returned to Italy to be with Allie. Fans of the actor and his character are excited to see him once again on May 2019.

Looking back at the time when he still wasn’t part of the show, Datillo admitted that he was already a fan of the soap. At that time, he was particularly fond of one character, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves). He even thought that he could be Frankie (Billy Warlock) because they looked alike.

When asked whether Melissa knows that he had a crush on her before, he simply said, “I don’t think I ever have told Missy that because I’m her brother now and it would be so awkward to have sexual tension with my sister.”
