It’s not known how writers are handling Konefal’s exit, but it doesn’t sound like she will be killed off. During Wilson’s interview with Soap Opera Digest, he kept referring to Ciara as if she stays alive, but leaves Salem. In fact, he was asked about recasting Ciara and he had an interesting response. He hopes that Konefal isn’t replaced right away. He thinks that there needs to be some breathing room. But it brings up another intriguing question.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Ciara has always been by Ben’s side ever since his release from Bayview. Each time that he went through difficulties relating to his mental illness, Ciara was right there to help him. She also played a major part in making Ben better. Can his sanity survive without Ciara? During Soap Opera Digest’s podcast, Dishin With Digest, Wilson speculated,

“Let’s see what happens. I don’t know. I think the next step for Ben—and again. I don’t know where this story’s going, I truly don’t—but I mean, it would be…He’s only been able to better himself when he’s had, Ciara. So if there’s ever a time for personal growth for him, to see where he truly stands in his healing process, it’s to see how he’ll stand on one leg without his other partner.”

While the actor couldn’t predict what will happen to Ben when Ciara is no longer by his side, he does have one hope. Throughout his interview with SOD, he mentioned that maybe Konefal would be back one day. In fact, he made the statement in various ways a few times throughout the conversation. So, it seems that he is supportive of Konefal’s career ambitions, but might still be hoping she comes back one day.
