“It’ll shake things up. It will remind people of things that used to be going on [in Salem].

It is stated that the time jump will move things forward by one year. Some couples will still be together, others will have split. To explain plot holes, there will be flashbacks. However, it is said that this is a way to speed up certain storylines that are getting stale while also resetting things in the fictional town.

It is confirmed that Hall will play dual roles once again on the soap. Not only will she portray Dr. Marlena Evans, but will reprise the role of Hattie Adams. As fans recall, Hattie is the opposite of Salem’s favorite psychiatrist.
