Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Does The Phoenix Rise Again In EJ?

Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates reveal something supernatural seems to have taken place when EJ DiMera (Dan Feurreriegel) placed Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) ring on his finger. Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) told him when he gave him Stefano’s original ring, that his father wanted him to have it when he died.

The Ring Seemed To Bear Stefano’s Spirit

The ring seemed to bear Stefano’s spirit, as EJ’s eyes changed when he put it on-there definitely seemed to be a shift. This was after candles blew out on their own, the day before when Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) was finally able to put her history with Stefano to rest.

The candles were on a table in the DiMera mansion, surrounding the urn with his cremains and several photos of Stefano throughout the years.

There was also an old scene, perhaps one EJ remembered from his childhood, of Stefano singing along with an opera record and swinging a baton to the music.

The ring itself seemed to change as well as the look in EJ’s eyes; could the candles blowing out have been Stefano’s spirit, waiting for a new vessel?

Did Rolf Put Stefano’s “Essence” In His Ring, Like He Did In “Steveano’s” Brain Chip?

One thing to consider besides the supernatural theory of Stefano’s wandering spirit waiting to inhabit someone like Satan did Marlena and many others, is if Rolf put Stefano’s “essence” in his ring!

Viewers should remember a few years back when he put in in a brain chip which was implanted in Steve Johnson, (Stephen Nichols) turning Steve into “Steveano!” But once that chip was removed, it was destroyed by Chad and Tony DiMera, (Billy Flynn, Thaao Penghlis) who burned it in an ashtray.

Could the ring have imparted Stefano’s essence by touch alone, possibly with a microwave into EJ’s brain from him putting it on his finger?

Gwen Rizczech Von Leuschner Will Be The First To Notice The Shift In EJ

Gwen Rizczech Von Leuschner (Emily O’Brien) will be the first to notice the shift in EJ, and may not recognize his father operating within him, since she never knew the Phoenix. She probably won’t realize what’s happening, since she came to town after the “Steveano” debacle.

Still, she will notice that there’s something definitely different about Stefano’s oldest son by blood, perhaps something more cunning, more conniving, and possibly, more evil!

She may notice EJ acting in certain ways and doing certain things that surprise her-things like listening to operas and singing along, or being interested in chess games.

The big reveal may come the next time EJ’s mom comes for a visit-will Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) realize that her son’s turned into his father in a supernatural way?
