DOOL spoilers reveal that Johnny DiMera aka “JoDevil” (Carson Boatman) convinced Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) that Belle was possessed. Marlena told John Black (Drake Hogestyn), who performed an exorcism.

Afterward, everyone tells Belle about these terrible things she did. Of course, Belle is shocked but has no reason to doubt their stories. When Belle is informed that she’s been possessed ever since Marlena’s exorcism, she realizes that means the devil was in control during EJ’s trial.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that a new trial would be EJ’s best chance at freedom. Especially when one considers that Chad now realizes that EJ never kissed Abigail, but it was the devil’s illusion. Chad feels incredibly guilty and wants to tell DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) that he committed perjury.

However, Chad is stopped by Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow). Even though Chad doesn’t confess the truth, EJ could still get a new trial if a court accepts devil possession as a reason to get a new trial. Despite EJ wanting to get out of prison, he refuses to take Susan’s suggestion.

DOOL Spoilers – Dan Feuerriegel Explains

Feuerriegel explained why EJ won’t use his possessed attorney as a way to get a new trial. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, the actor said,

“He’s pessimistic in that regard. He doesn’t think the judge will believe him, after everything he did in the courtroom, and it’s kind of flimsy. Being able to prove that is where we would get into some problems. Do you really want to bring a whole devil story into a court of law? No. No one’s going to believe it, and it’s going to end up being worse for EJ.”

So, how will EJ earn his freedom back? We will have to keep watching the NBC soap to find out.
