DOOL spoilers reveal that Doug is exhibiting mental decline, including memory lapses. During some of these missing chunks of time, Doug acts in bizarre, concerning or terrifying ways. Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) notices that something is off when Doug comes to the pub. Then, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) becomes worried when he has to save Julie and she tells the story of what happened.

In the promo for the week of September 6, Jack manages to unlock the freezer door and save Julie. As she sits down in a chair, Jack gets her a towel to wrap around herself. Shivering from the cold freezer, Julie tells Jack how she got locked in the freezer. It was her own husband that is responsible but Julie doesn’t know what has gotten into him. The couple had not been fighting and now he’s not even in the house.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest about the storyline, executive producer Ken Corday teased,

“Julie is concerned when Doug starts to show signs of mental decline. I love featured Doug and Julie more, and this is going to be an impactful story.”

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Doug goes into Brady’s Pub. Sitting at the bar, Doug looks tired and is peering closely at the counter. A sneak peek photo in Soap Opera Digest indicates Doug might be counting change while Roman watches. Since Roman is worried about Doug’s mental state, he probably calls Julie. It is teased that Jack and Julie will desperately try to track down Doug.

Eventually, Doug is found and taken to the hospital. Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) runs some tests to figure out what’s going on. By the end of the week, Kayla gets the results. Whatever the diagnosis is, Julie refuses to accept it and goes into denial.

Will Julie ever come to terms with Doug’s health condition? What exactly is his diagnosis and is there any treatment? What does this mean for the character’s future? We will have to keep watching the NBC soap to see how this story develops.
