Days of Our Lives viewers will remember that Kate had a rough few days recently after being kidnapped by an impersonated by Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk)! Kate had figured out that Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) wasn’t Susan, and dramatically proved it by pulling off her wig! Kristen had no choice but to grab the nearest weapon of opportunity, and knock her out and drag her down to the DiMera wine cellar. For goodness sakes, when IS Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) going to either put a non-locking doorknob on the door or security cameras down there?

You’d think he would after so many people have been trapped down there! To make a long story short, Kristen put on her Kate mask and wig, complete with a voice synthesizer, and fooled Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) into thinking the real Kate had dumped him. Days of Our Lives viewers will remember that he almost immediately jumped back into Gabi Hernandez’s (Camila Banus) bed! That really doesn’t show a lot of loyalty or commitment on Jake’s part, but then he was realizing he felt torn between Gabi and Kate even before this happened!

To be fair, Jake cannot be blamed for jumping into things with Gabi considering he thought Kate dumped him! But he found out she hadn’t after she managed to get to his room at the DiMera mansion after jumping out of Kristen’s moving car. Kate walked in on the two of them having a romp in bed, then collapsed later with Jake finding her and getting her to the hospital! Still, one cannot really blame her for waking up from her coma to put a guilt trip on both Jake and Gabi by faking blindness and memory loss!

DOOL Spoilers – Kate Roberts Is Not A Weak And Clingy Woman

Longtime viewers of Days of Our Lives will remember that Kate is not a weak and clingy woman, and never has been. She’s not trying to make Jake feel sorry for her to hang onto him. But Jake had been her lover for several months, and Gabi had once been a good friend and ally, so of course, she is hurt and angry by what she perceives as their betrayal! Kate will continue to play blind and somewhat helpless, as well as memory impaired.

She wants both Jake and Gabi to feel good and guilty, the guilt trip being a form of revenge for her. She may also feel that they may feel too guilty to continue to carry on behind her back if she’s in such bad shape. Days of Our Lives viewers will also recall that Kristen had injected her with something at least a couple of times, and it is entirely possible that her blindness and memory loss could be side effects of those substances.

Kate knows that the show she’s putting on for Jake and Gabi is believable – even though Dr. Clay Snyder (Michael Lowry) busted her on her blindness. Kate blackmailed him for his silence, as Days of Our Lives viewers will recall. Kate will continue her charade until she’s satisfied that both Jake and Gabi are sufficiently sorry for their jumping into things while she has been in such a bad state before she “recovers”!
