Days of Our Lives spoilers confirm Rex Brady leaves town during the week of August 5. Recently, actor Kyle Lowder discussed his character, time on the show and how he really feels about his surprising exit.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers – Rex Brady Leaves Salem
August 9 will be the day fans will say goodbye to Rex. However, Lowder has known since late last year that he was being written out of the soap opera. He explained that the conversation about his farewell was positive and good, but surprising. Now, the good news is that those in charge told Lowder that some characters are being written off “temporarily.” This means there is a chance that Rex could return in the future.
“It was rough, I’m not going to lie about it. I’ve been in this business for almost 20 years. I know it wasn’t personal. At the end of the day, it’s show business.”
Days of Our Lives Spoilers – Why Didn’t Kyle Lowder Announce His Departure?
As fans know, Days of Our Lives films six to eight months in advance. His last day of filming was in mid-January, even though viewers will see it in early August. As for why he didn’t tell fans earlier, it is because he cares about the daytime series.
“I care about the show first and foremost, and the last thing that the show would need, whether it’s me or any other character is for somebody to spill the beans. It wouldn’t be right for me to say, ‘I’m here until August,’ and the entire time people are watching, maybe they’re not investing in my character.”

It was tough because he fathered a child with Mimi Lockhart (Farah Fath) and cheated on Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). The actor struggled with how to make Rex likable again. However, he loved the daily challenges of playing the handsome doctor.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers – The Final Farewell
The last week of filming, Lowder said it was numbing. He was sad to go and so many of his co-stars said farewell. Especially Lauren Koslow (Kate), Josh Taylor (Roman) and of course, Linsey Godfrey. However, this might not be the last of Rex Brady as his final scenes include him “twisting a knife” into Sarah’s mind about her new lover, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan).

Absolutely I’ll miss Rex! He’s WAY more of a Days staple than Sarah could ever hope to be! I hate Sarah, & if Rex is forced to leave, they should’ve had Sarah leave with him! Maybe they could’ve both gone back to Chicago. Eric had better NOT become Sarah’s “lover” as the article so disgustingly referred to… He belongs with the real Nicole & sweet little Holly. THAT is who Eric should be with, not the simpering stupid immature weirdo that Sarah is, with all her odd facial expressions & bratty ways! She’s young enough to be Eric’s daughter & she acts like she’s 10 or 12 years old most of the time. She’s the worst actress to ever be on Days! The worst! She can’t act her way out of a paper bag! She’s not believable as a Doctor & she’s not believable as a woman (she’s always acting 12!) & she’s not right for Eric! Bring back the real Nicole & Holly & let Eric be a family with THEM, not this strange twerp Sarah is. Send her far away & back to acting class, she’s just such a bad actress I won’t watch anymore when she’s on the screen. You know, they did that with 2 actresses: Nicole & Gabi… And when they returned, they were both great! But when they were each first on, they weren’t! So send Sarah far away, send her to acting school, get her to stop making those horrible facial expressions, & just be done with her, or pair her up with Xander… Leave Eric alone or put him with the real Nicole & little Holly! It’s taking way too long for that part of the story to get told…
Yes! I really like Kyle Louder. He was great as Brady years ago and as Rick on B&B.
I also would like to see Eric get back with the real Nicole and Holly.
