August 9 will be the day fans will say goodbye to Rex. However, Lowder has known since late last year that he was being written out of the soap opera. He explained that the conversation about his farewell was positive and good, but surprising. Now, the good news is that those in charge told Lowder that some characters are being written off “temporarily.” This means there is a chance that Rex could return in the future.

“It was rough, I’m not going to lie about it. I’ve been in this business for almost 20 years. I know it wasn’t personal. At the end of the day, it’s show business.”

Days of Our Lives Spoilers – Why Didn’t Kyle Lowder Announce His Departure?

As fans know, Days of Our Lives films six to eight months in advance. His last day of filming was in mid-January, even though viewers will see it in early August. As for why he didn’t tell fans earlier, it is because he cares about the daytime series.

“I care about the show first and foremost, and the last thing that the show would need, whether it’s me or any other character is for somebody to spill the beans. It wouldn’t be right for me to say, ‘I’m here until August,’ and the entire time people are watching, maybe they’re not investing in my character.”

Days of Our Lives Spoilers – The Final Farewell

The last week of filming, Lowder said it was numbing. He was sad to go and so many of his co-stars said farewell. Especially Lauren Koslow (Kate), Josh Taylor (Roman) and of course, Linsey Godfrey. However, this might not be the last of Rex Brady as his final scenes include him “twisting a knife” into Sarah’s mind about her new lover, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan).
