Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Lani Makes A Shocking Move

Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that Lani Price (Sal Stowers) will ask for a leave of absence from the police station so that she can take care of baby David Ridgeway (the Ellis twins). In most police departments, a detective wanting a leave of absence would have to request it from the police commissioner; that should go over well with Commissioner Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) who already saw Lani in Rafe Hernandez’ (Galen Gering) apartment in one of his shirts and that didn’t go over too well either!

Lani was able to explain David made a mess on her shirt and she needed to put something on while she laundered it, and Hope believed her! But a leave of absence might mean even more time at Rafe’s apartment unless Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) all of a sudden starts staying out of Stefan DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) pants a little more often!

Lani really doesn’t have a legal reason to request a family leave of absence since she is not related to the baby; she could, however request a personal leave, which is probably what she will have to do. This will come at a terrible time for the Salem PD, who will need all hands on deck once Holly Jonas’ (Scarlett and Harlow Mallory) kidnapping is reported.

Rafe himself should take a little more time to heal from his gunshot wound to be fully functional, but all indications are that he will not and join in the search not fully healed! This might be the reason Lani will say she needs the time off instead of letting Rafe care for David and she herself join the search!

Hope may have heard of the dysfunction between she and Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) as well over baby David; but with a missing toddler, the Salem PD doesn’t need a bunch of distracted detectives doing the work. Hope might just go ahead and grant Lani the time off since she herself is distracted by her marriage troubles with Rafe and her problems with Ted Laurent (Gilles Marini); which just may be part of a well-laid plan of his to keep Hope distracted not just from Rafe, but from her job!
