When Xander figured out that something might really be wrong with Sarah, he turned to Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller). Gwen tried to stop Xander from investigating but he insisted on needing to find his ex.

It’s understandable why Gwen might be worried, but her actions could have led to Sarah’s continuing torment or even death. Of course, Sarah isn’t exactly being tortured, but something definitely isn’t right with the island captive. If anyone dies during the island rescue, it might be Gwen’s fault.

Xander has stopped searching despite Abigail going missing. Xander even proposed marriage to Gwen. The master manipulator accepted the proposal but feels guilty about her actions. Despite her guilt, Gwen still hasn’t spoken up but the truth will soon be exposed.

“These are two women who love Xander for being who he is in different ways. Gwen loves Xander for exactly who he is, and Sarah loves him for who he is and who he could be. It’s a very unique dynamic, and I love it.”

Even though Sarah does love Xander, she was always trying to change him. Of course, Sarah just wanted Xander to be a better person and saw the potential for him to do great things. However, Gwen has never tried to change Xander. She simply accepts him for who he is. So, was Godfrey hinting that Gwen actually might be the better choice for Xander?
