Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Melinda Turns Mudslinger – Plays Dirty Politics

Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that Melinda Trask (Laura Kai Chen) intends to run a no-holds-barred political campaign to win the Salem Mayoral race, and that includes engaging in dirty politics and mudslinging! Melinda, as well as Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) – or shall we say Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva) will have their work cut out for them trying to defeat incumbent Mayor Abe Carver (James Reynolds) who’s been Salem mayor for several years.

However, Melinda could find some dirt on Abe if she looks hard enough and far back enough; when he ran the first time in 2008, he ran against EJ DiMera (James Scott) and managed to get the mayoral debate questions ahead of time with the help of a friend of Jennifer Horton’s (Melissa Reeves).

This way he had an edge over EJ, and somehow Abe was able to switch EJ’s set of questions with some fake ones. Abe appeared to have won the election, but then allegations of ballot tampering came up and he was arrested, causing the position of mayor to default to EJ. Later, in 2015 he was asked to take over the mayoral position after having served as police consultant and temporary commissioner for a time after Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) stepped down.

Melinda will have to dig up dirt on Jack as well, but she will be fighting a force of nature when she encounters Eve, who is really the brains and the force behind Jack!

If Melinda thinks she’s got dirt on Jack, just wait until Eve undoubtedly breaks Jack’s confidence in knowing that Melinda’s sister Haley Chen (Thia Megia) is an illegal alien and Melinda had been harboring her for a period of time while still district attorney!

This, of course will not only destroy Melinda’s campaign, but Jack’s revived relationship with his son JJ (Casey Moss) will be compromised, because Jack promised JJ he wouldn’t tell! That in turn will destroy JJ and Haley’s budding relationship!
