Rafe has been doing what he can to lift Nicole’s spirits. Ava is aware that Rafe and Nicole are close friends. She doesn’t mind Rafe comforting a friend in pain but she knows how easily the lines can get crossed. Plus, Ava is convinced that Rafe and Nicole have feelings for each other. She would prefer if Rafe wasn’t alone with Nicole in her bedroom when consoling her.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Nicole will be heartbroken over Eric for a while. She will also be dealing with heartache once she learns about Ava’s relationship problems. Nicole realizes that Rafe and Ava are fighting about her. Nicole decides to walk away from Rafe in order to protect her friendship with Ava. It is teased that Rafe and Nicole share one last hug, but Ava happens to see it and gets the wrong idea.

Executive producer Ken Corday spoke to Soap Opera Digest about what’s next for Nicole. The fall preview states that Nicole will try to find a way to cope with her heartache. It’s not just one man that Nicole has lost, but two. She turns to EJ to forget about Rafe and Eric.

“This is a strong foursome (Ava, Rafe, Nicole and EJ). Nicole realizes she’s interfering in Rafe and Ava’s relationship, so she turns her attention to EJ, who is more than willing to help her forget all about Rafe. EJ and Nicole have a rich history and it’s worth exploring.”
