DOOL spoilers reveal that Eric returned on Friday, April 15, 2022. While previous comebacks were only for a brief time, Eric’s stay is long-term. Actor Greg Vaughan is on contract, which should make fans happy. In Eric’s return scene, he is helping out at Brady’s Pub. Nicole walks in and isn’t even paying attention to her surroundings. When Nicole hears Eric’s voice, she suddenly freezes and looks up. That is when she is elated to see Eric back in Salem.

Fans were overjoyed when Eric and Nicole got married. However, around that time, Vaughan decided to leave the NBC soap. So, the writers gave Eric an exit story without breaking up “Ericole.” Eric would go to the Congo to help villagers in need. Eventually, three months turned into a year. Tired of being left all alone, Nicole got drunk and had a one-night stand with Xander Cook (Paul Telfer). When Eric found out the truth, it was the end of the marriage.
