He left to attend medical school, but it’s not known if he has finished his studies or not. In either case, something brings him back to Salem to reunite with his dad and stepmom.

Days of Our Lives spoilers don’t confirm how long Tripp will be in Salem. However, head writer Ron Carlivati did tell Soap Opera Digest that Tripp will decide to stay in Salem for a while. So, it seems that he will have an extended stay. However, he will end up being surprised by someone he runs into.
DOOL Spoilers – Encounters and Consequences
Tripp ends up seeing someone in Salem that he knew while he was out of town. It is teased that this chance encounter will end up giving Tripp a storyline. But that isn’t all. The surprise meeting will end up having repercussions all over town, it’s stated.
“With Steve solidly back in Salem and reconciled with Kayla, it felt like an appropriate time for Tripp to come to visit. And it turns out he may want to stay for a while. Tripp bumps into somebody he knew while he was away and it will launch him into a story that will be a bigger story and has repercussions all over Salem.”
