Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Two Days Icons Come Together To Honor The Late Drake Hogestyn

Days of Our Lives Spoilers reveal that two iconic stars came together to honor the late Drake Hogestyn, who played John Black for nearly forty years.

Charles Shaughnessy (Shane Donovan) and Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson) recently participated in the PanCan Purple Stride Walk, an event that raises money for pancreatic cancer.

Drake Hogestyn Died In September 2024

This walk was on a day to remember the soap icon, Hogestyn who passed away from pancreatic cancer just short of his 71st birthday, September 28, 2024.

Steve was team captain of Hogey’s Home Runner, paying homage to Drake’s name when he played baseball before he started his acting career years ago.

Shaughnessy shared of photo of himself and Nichols on the walk where these two were all smiles in honor of their late friend.

“Congratulations to @stephen_e_nichols and Hogey’s Homerunners on raising over $50k to fight Pancreatic cancer! You can still donate at link. Doing it for Hogey!” Shaughnessy shared along with his photo.

Stephen Nichols Thanks His Friend

Nichols appeared in Shaughnessy’s comments to share his thoughts, “Thanks for coming out and supporting PanCan and Drake, Charlie. So great to see you!💜” Martha Madison, who played Hogestyn’s onscreen daughter, Belle Black added, “So great seeing you today! Xx.” Madison supporting the Hogey’s as well.

Nichols also spoke in an interview with CBS LA Mornings, saying that Hogestyn would have been so proud of people coming out to raise money to fight pancreatic cancer. “He’s the kind of guy who would’ve been at the forefront of this move me if it had been someone else,” Nichols declared about his late friend.

Last Year Martha Madison And Eric Martsolf Led The Team

This is year number two for the Days Of Our Lives family to come together to support the fight against pancreatic cancer.

Last year, Hogestyn’s onscreen children, Martha Madison (Belle Black) and Eric Martsolf (Brady Black) lead the team who were there for Hogestyn. Hogestyn’s castmates have been adamant about being there to support the cause.

Of course, Hogestyn played John for 38 years, starting as The Pawn before being assumed to be Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and other names.

John had only found his true father in recent years before his untimely death when Timothy “Tim” Robicheaux, played by the iconic Dick Van Dyke, showed up looking for his son who happened to be Black.

Hogestyn is one of a few actors who got the opportunity to sign off on his death story before his untimely demise. John was still a hero even in death and Hogestyn wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
