DOOL spoilers reveal that there is a specific reason why Sarah took off to Paris with Rachel. The kidnapper needed somewhere to go where she would have a place to stay. Paying rent or a hotel room bill was not an option for Sarah. She could more easily be traced, so she needed to take over someone else’s place.  That led her to stay at Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Abigail DiMera’s (Kate Mansi) old apartment.

DOOL Spoilers: Chad & Abby in Paris Set

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest spoilers, Carlivati explained that they still had the Chad & Abby in Paris apartment set. It hasn’t been used since the web series finished airing on the official DOOL app. Considering the soap’s low budget, the empty set allowed them a reason to recycle and reuse it.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that once they decided to reuse the Paris apartment set, they had another issue to deal with. Who would Sarah encounter in Paris that could lead to her losing Rachel? The writers tossed around a lot of ideas and that’s when they decided to bring back Rex.

Even though Rex and Sarah didn’t end things well during his last exit, the relationship is a bit different now. Rex is the stable one and is trying to use the voice of reason to get Sarah to do the right thing. However, once Sarah finds out that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) would be Rachel’s sole parent, that changes everything. There is no way that Sarah will allow Rachel to be raised by Kristen if Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) goes to prison.

Carlivati told the magazine the reasons why they sent Sarah to Paris and why it was important for Rex to be involved.

“She was engaged to him and he’s part of the family, and has a vested interest in where this baby belongs. We came up with that idea and then we reached out to Kyle to see if he would be available. Because Rex doesn’t live in Salem, we thought it was possible that he’s not aware of what’s going on and that she’s not supposed to have this baby.”
