After standing up to Gil (David S. Lee), the villain tried to sexually assault Ava. This led to Ava pulling a gun on Gil in self-defense and when Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) walked in, the villain was already dead.

Ava is already having trouble explaining the whole story. That would lead to the truth about her being forced to work for Clyde.

Ava is terrified of losing another son. Clyde has already made it clear that Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) will die if Ava doesn’t follow orders.

Fans watched in Tuesday’s episode as Ava got a phone call from Statesville Prison. So, Clyde probably already has found out about Gil’s death.

Gabi nearly lost her life. One aftereffect of the attack was infertility. So, Stefan might make a deal with Clyde to protect Gabi.
