DOOL spoilers reveal that Paul came to Salem and already had a connection in town. Paul was the ex-boyfriend of Sonny. Paul was a professional baseball player and sustained injuries that could sideline his career. Paul often used his career as a reason to keep his sexuality a secret. However, Paul would eventually come out.

Paul ended up having an affair with Will and fans were divided. Some wanted Will and Sonny together, others were interested in Will and Paul, then there were a few who were interested in seeing Paul and Sonny rekindle their romance. One other big storyline was finding out that Paul was John’s secret son.
