Days Of Our Lives Writing Team Shake Up – GH Writer Trades Port Charles Drama For Salem

Days of Our Lives spoilers confirm a major writing team shake-up backstage. As per a Daytime Confidential report, sources have noted that General Hospital writer Ryan Quan is returning to his old stomping ground on DOOL’s writing team. More details on this are below.

Ryan Quan’s New Days Role

According to the report, Days co-Head Writer, Paula Cwikly, is slated to retire, and Quan will be stepping into this role, working with other co-Head Writer, Jeanne Marie Ford.

As of this writing, Days of Our Lives has yet to announce this writing team shake-up, so it’s important to note that.

Quan will be returning “home”, as he spent close to 20 years on the Peacock soap in a number of writing roles. He was also co-head writer on the daytime drama, alongside Dena Higley, from late 2016 to mid-2017.

Quan ended his Days run as a story consultant and is viewed as a knowledge of wealth as it relates to Days of Our Lives history. He left to join General Hospital and his debut as a breakdown writer for the ABC soap occurred in 2025.

When The Changes Will Be Seen

No start date was offered in the report; however, as Days of Our Lives films so far in advance, whatever Quan and Ford write about won’t be seen right away. In fact, fans might not feel the impact until well into 2027, early 2028, for that matter!

It’s an exciting development whenever a new writer enters the equation. Still, it could mean some interesting things happening in the land of Salem, or it could cause negative chaos, too!

With that said, Quan is a veteran on the writing team at Days of Our Lives, so despite his absence, he will probably bring on the drama and possibly offer some nostalgic moments to the show once he gets comfy in the role.
