Coronavirus Affecting Entertainment Industry
There are a lot of industries and businesses being affected by coronavirus. Schools are being closed, gatherings of more than 500 people are currently banned in Dallas County, Texas and employees are being urged to work at home if possible.
The entertainment industry is also being affected. Many shows have stopped taping in front of audiences. Some are even stopping production entirely and General Hospital is the latest television show to do just that.
GH Spoilers: Soap Suspends Production
On Instagram, SoapCentral reported that General Hospital is suspending production beginning Monday, March 16, 2020. This means that all cast members and crew will not be working on set. They are to stay home to prevent the spread of the infection.
How Long Will Production Suspension Last?
According to the social media post, General Hospital spoilers reveal that the production suspension will last until Friday, April 10, 2020. That’s nearly a month that filming will not take place. The suspension could be extended if the virus continues to spread.
General Hospital Spoilers: Will This Prevent New Episodes From Airing?
It is stated that the soap films three to four weeks in advance. This means that fans will still see new episodes. The only thing that could prevent us from not viewing new episodes is if the production suspension is extended any longer.

We completely understand why this decision is being made and hopefully, filming will resume and everyone will remain healthy. Remember, people’s safety and lives should always come first.

Yes this sucks
I’m glad that all will be safe better safe than sorry
It’s for the best interest to all! I totally agteith shutting down production. Everything else is closed people should understand!
They should!
I don’t think it’s necessary unless someone gets the virus. Mostly everyone on the show is under 50.
Fans will be devastated
I think they need to take precautions like everyone else. They should do whatever it takes to be cautious.
was not surprise to see this happen safety come first just hope it doesn’t last long will find other things to watch will miss GH
I totally agree 100%
No problem everyone should stay safe!
I think it is a good idea. If all goes well and we can slow this virus down or better, stop it, then we won’t miss anything since they have already filmed a month out. They can fill in with scenes archived if need be.
No I’m.not suspend bold to it ain’t hitting on shit to look at
I hope everyone stays safe and healthy!! Love all the characters and I do not want anyone to get sick.
