General Hospital star Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain) lost everything when his home was destroyed in the Palisades fire early this year. Notably, as it’s now the festive season, he doesn’t have any decorations, and he loves them so much. But good fortune went his way. Read on to find out more.
Passionate About Christmas
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday this week, Cameron Mathison shared some photos from his old home that was allegedly burned to the ground by an arsonist. Of course, he wasn’t the only person to start over again. But, he’s got a big following. And, most GH fans love a good news story.

In his caption, the real-life Drew Cain first reminisced about his loss. He said, “This Christmas looks different. Years of decorations, thousands of lights, trees, garlands, wreaths – gone in the fires.” He added, “I was that guy at Christmas, and losing it all hit harder than I expected.”
Help Was Coming
Well, help was on the way, and he was gifted some new decorations by “friends at Balsam Hill.” So, he’s now surrounded by beauty this Christmas. The GH star told his fans, “the most beautiful pieces…help me start rebuilding my Christmas world. Grateful beyond words.”
It’s been more than once that General Hospital fans heard about the devastating losses in the LA fires. It brought out the best in people, and many folks got out and about helping others. But now, months later, the kindness that followed the fires still seems to remain.
