Daytime Emmys 2022: General Hospital, The Young And The Restless Lead All Nominations

Daytime Emmys Daytime Emmy news reveals that The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) have announced the nominees for the 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. This year the awards ceremony will air live on Friday, June 24 on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. This marks the 16th time that CBS has broadcast the Daytime Emmys, a record among the networks.

Overall, CBS’s The Young and the Restless (18) and ABC’s General Hospital (17) lead the pack in terms of nominations. NBC’s Days of Our Lives has 11 nominations and CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful has eight.

Marci Miller as Abigail DiMera and Arianne Zucker as Nicole Walker are nominated for DOOL and Mishael Morgan as Amanda Sinclair, is the nominee from The Young and the Restless.

In the Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actor, GH was left out of consideration. The nominees are Peter Bergman as Jack Abbott and Jason Thompson as Billy Abbott from The Young and the Restless, Eric Martsolf as Brady Black from Days of Our Lives, John McCook as Eric Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful, and James Reynolds as Abe Carver, Days of Our Lives.

Bryton James as Devon Hamilton and Jordi Vilasuso as Rey Rosales are The Young and the Restless’ picks while Jeff Kober as Cyrus Renault and James Patrick Stuart as Valentin Cassadine, represent General Hospital. The Bold and the Beautiful’s Aaron D. Spears as Justin Barber is also nominated.

The Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series category has Lindsay Arnold as Allie Horton, from Days of Our Lives, and alum Alyvia Alyn Lind as Faith Newman from The Young and the Restless.

Here’s where things really get interesting, GH has three nominees: Nicholas Chavez as Spencer Cassadine, William Lipton as Cameron Webber, and alum Sydney Mikayla as Trina Robinson.
