Head Writers Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte recently talked with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) and offered a preview of some of the characters fans are about to meet, and CTS has the scoop.
Dr. Tristan Rogers Reporting For Duty
General Hospital spoilers hint that Tristan Roberts, played by Dean Geyer, may pay homage to the late and great Tristan Rogers and the character he played, Robert Scorpio; however, fans shouldn’t expect him to be part of the WSB.
He will be a doctor from Australia, an ‘accomplished surgeon’, in fact, who enters Port Charles looking for a fresh start.
Korte and Van Etten tease that Roberts is ‘witty and unflappable’; however, they also state that, “a clean break with his past will prove difficult when he discovers his adopted home is host to more than a few connections to a life he left behind.”
He’ll also start on the wrong foot with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), too, so will this lead to a rivalry or romance? Watch for his debut this Monday, July 13!

A New Hire For Miller & Davis
In some cryptic spoilers from Van Etten and Korte, they reveal to SOD that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) will hire an associate.
Still, General Hospital’s head writers suggest that the new hire could be a source of some new headaches for others on the canvas.
Hudson, Who?
General Hospital spoilers note that Troy Lennon Appel is slated to hit Port Charles in a contract role. He’ll be playing mysterious businessman, ‘Hudson,’ who comes to the little town at the end of July. He’s looking for a specific PC resident, and no one will stop him from achieving this goal.

Scout Cain, My Have You Grown!
Kids these days grow so fast … especially in the land of soaps! Scout Cain is about to re-enter the canvas as Kayden Brenna Tokarski has been hired as the recast, and the character will go through the SORAS ringer, as the little girl transforms into a teenager.
As the offspring of Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), General Hospital head writers say, “A more mature Scout will hit the canvas bearing her mother’s grit, her father’s cunning, and a mind all her own.”
With that said, when the NuScout hits the canvas, it’ll be the same old/same old when it comes to tensions between Drew, her grandmother Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), her Aunt Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos), and her brother, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn).
With that said, Scout will be, “… determined to balance her love for Drew with her love for the Davises, but especially her love for her cherished big brother, Danny.”
The writers also had this to say, “She’s [Scout] the scion of two storied families, the Quatermaines and Davises/Cassadines, and that will put her in the middle of a war, drawing in characters of all ages from across the canvas.”
Serena Baldwin’s Comeback
Finally, Kelly Kruger, The Young and the Restless’ ex- Mackenzie Brown, is set to debut as Serena Baldwin.
Long time General Hospital fans will remember that Serena is the daughter of Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) and the late Dominique Stanton (Shell Danielson), with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) being her surrogate mom.
She was born in 1993, and Carly Schroeder played the character as a child in 1997 when she, Lucy, and Scott were a part of the ABC soap’s spinoff, “Port Charles”.
Schroeder returned in 2017 to play the part briefly when Serena’s grandfather, Lee Baldwin (Peter Hansen), passed away.
It sounds like Lucy will need Serena because of some Deception troubles, and her doting daughter will return to PC to help.
According to Van Etten and Korte, “Serena has been traveling the world fighting the good fight for animals and the ecosystem, but a personal setback means a reunion with her mother couldn’t come at a better time.”
They add that Serena will return to help Lucy, “… but also to lick her own wounds and regroup.”
Serena will be a mix of her parents, biological and surrogate! Korte and Van Ettan note that Serena is, “… all heart – but when Lucy aims her at the Quartermaines, we’ll see she’s also plenty conniving. When it comes to Coes and Baldwins, the scheming gene doesn’t skip a generation.”
