General Hospital Casting Shocker: Nathan Parsons Returns As Ethan Lovett

General Hospital spoilers suggest a familiar face is returning to the land of Port Charles! TV Insider is reporting that actor Nathan Parsons, who is now known as Nathan Dean, is reprising the role of Ethan Lovett. Details, below!

Ethan Lovett’s PC Comeback

General Hospital spoilers remind fans that Ethan Lovett is the son of Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) and Holly Sutton (Emma Samms).

Dean played the role from 2009 to 2012, and returned for short stints in 2013, 2015, and 2020. Actor James Ryan was recast in the role briefly, in 2023. Ethan is set to return to the canvas this coming April! 

While his father, Luke has longed passed, and his mother, Holly is in hiding, Ethan’s sister, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) is around, as well as former flame, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi).

Of course, there’s also plenty of friends that Ethan used to hang out with in PC that are still around, so it’ll be interesting to see him re-bond with everyone; as well as finding out the reason for his return!

General Hospital Executive Chimes In

General Hospital’s Executive Producer, Frank Valentini had this to say about Dean’s return to the ABC soap, “We have a great story planned — with, of course, a few twists along the way.”

 Dean was born in Adelaide, Australia; however, weas raised in Texas and Colorado. When first approached by General Hospital’s Mark Teschner, the show’s casting director, the actor was reading for the role of Dante Falconeri.

Still, even though the part went to Dominic Zamprogna, Dean made a strong impression, so the “Ethan Lovett” was created just for the actor. He debuted in GH in late January 2009.

He would return in April 2013 for General Hospital’s 50^th anniversary and then participated in Luke’s “goodbye” storyline when Geary retired in 2015.

Fans were delighted to see Dean once again in 2020, sharing scenes with the late Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio) and Lisa LoCicero (Olivia Quartermaine) when the duo were in Monte Carlo.
