McLaughlin first appeared on GH on December 27, 2018 as “Hank” Archer, who claimed to be an old friend of Drew Cain (Billy Miller) and about the same time as Samantha McCall (Kelly Monaco) started receiving unsettling “voice from the past” messages.
He soon revealed himself as “Shiloh” a minister of sorts heading up the “Dawn Of Day” group where he taught seminars and had written a book called The Dawn Of Day. In this book, he mentioned how Drew had saved his life from an IED (improvised explosive device) in Afghanistan, where Shiloh had been a military contractor and Drew had been a Navy Seal.

General Hospital News – Shiloh Archer Was Working For Helena Cassadine
Sam’s “voices from the past” soon proved to be from the Dawn of Day group, which was exposed as a cult and Shiloh as the cult leader. Sam had also been married at one time, in her con woman days, to Shiloh’s father and bilked him out of a good deal of money. As time went on, the cult, and Shiloh himself, was revealed as much more dangerous and immoral, luring young women into his inner circle, then drugging and raping them as part of an initiation.
Current storylines revealed that Shiloh was working on a contractor basis for Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) and was the person who kidnapped Drew out of Afghanistan for her.
Peter August (Wes Ramsey), then known as Heinrik Faison, was also revealed to have been much more involved in the kidnappings of Drew and his twin Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) than he let on, and Shiloh blackmailed him with threats to expose him. Peter in turn has employed a hit man to kill Shiloh!
