General Hospital News: Elizabeth Hendrickson Speaks Out About Margaux Dawson

General Hospital (GH) star Elizabeth Hendrickson talks about what took her long to accept the role of Margaux. She said that she wasn’t sure she wanted to work on another soap opera, but over time, she decided it was a great career move. She talked to ABC Soaps In Depth about what led to her finally accepting the role and how difficult it is to work in daytime TV.

General Hospital News – Frank Valentini Recruited Her

Hendrickson said that when Frank came to her about the role, she told him no several times. She wasn’t sure she wanted to do any more soap work. She said eventually he wore her down and piqued her interested when he let her know the role was a district attorney. Elizabeth said she had never played an attorney before so it was intriguing, to say the least.

Valentini told her that he needed her to hit the ground running as they need her to learn 100 pages of script within the first two days of filming. She said that it was difficult, but she got it done.

Took A While To Feel At Ease On General Hospital

Elizabeth said it took a while for her to feel comfortable in the role. She added that she had played Chloe Mitchell on Y&R for so many years that it was like an extension of her personality. However, Margaux is much different and it was an adjustment to play her, at least at first.

Part of the issue is daytime television moves very fast. You have to learn things very quickly and it isn’t easy. She said she knew when she accepted the role it would be hard, and it has been, However, she added that the experience has been so rewarding.
