Brad Cooper of “General Hospital” is a character that viewers love to hate but its portrayer, Parry Shen, is a different story. Fans love the actor and they’d love to see him portray a different role every now and then. They can catch him in his new sci-fi thriller called “Automation” where he plays the role of Alan.

The movie is about a robot that’s doing a great job, which threatens a certain group of workers. So they stage a protest against the robot. As tensions rise, the robot gets a little crazy and things start to become scary.

“I play the guy who created the robot. I’m basically trying to replace it with a better robot and the robot doesn’t like that. It’s kind of my fault, I think, what happens to everybody!” Shen teased.

Shen, a.k.a. Alan, designs a robot that can do factory work. “Auto,” the name of the AI, does a great job. But it wreaks havoc after it finds out that it’ll be replaced with newer, upgraded robots.

The movie is out on Blu-ray and VOD. It can also be downloaded from various digital download services like iTunes, Vudu, and Google.

In his post, Shen shared an article from Soap Dirt that asked the question of whether he’ll be killed off. The actor confirmed that it was true.

“Playing this role over the last (almost) 7 years, has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful,” Shen said.

Fans were quick to comment on his post. Some expressed how they will miss him.
