Matt Cohen, who played Dr. Griffin Munro on “General Hospital,” landed a role in a new film titled “The Husband.” Cohen, who will portray the role of Jason, will work together with Karissa Lee Staples as Kelsey, Elena Goode, Susan Deming, Jake B. Miller, AprilAnn Dais, Dennis Julian and Bret Shefter.
The film, which is written and directed by Lane Shefter Bishop, is still in the post-production stage. Further details are yet to be revealed. Cohen shared on Twitter, “Wrapped!!! Thank you to one of the hardest working crews in movie making!! For the last 15 days we cried, laughed, and grew together! I’m forever grateful to have met you all. Thanks for making this project great! xoxo @LaneShefterBish”
According to reports, Cohen decided to walk away from his role on ABC’s “General Hospital,” but he assured that there was no drama involved in his departure. He was last seen in the soap on March 22. “I did three years at the show. It was a great time and I had great fun playing the character, but I’m a guy who gets uncomfortable when he gets comfortable,” Matt explained. “I need to give Griffin a little rest right now.”
As expected, a lot of fans were sad to see Cohen go. Some said they would miss him while others were still hopeful to see him again someday. The cast and crew of “General Hospital” also bid their farewell to their fellow cast member. They even shared behind the scene snaps during Cohen’s last day on the set.

Cohen described his last day as a “tough day emotionally.” However, he seemed to have no regrets and said he’s “grateful to all the fantastic casts, crews, and fandoms I have been able to meet along the way.”
But fan’s need not fret. There is a possibility that Cohen may return to the show someday. He teased, “We’re leaving it very open-ended … There’s always the chance I’ll come back.” Cohen explained that he had some close talks with Frank Valentini, the soap’s executive producer, about the possibility of a return. However, nobody knows when that will be.

I really miss Griffin a lot. I miss him as a Doctor at GH but I particularly miss him as a husband to Maxie and the father he never got to be to James. I think that they would have been an awesome little family! Maxie would have driven him crazy, I’m very sure.
Maxie was with Nathan, who was killed. Griffin was with Kiki! and Ava before her.
Omg yes I miss Griffin. I was really hoping he could stay. He was a wonderful character and I was sad he left so quickly. They could have redeemed Ava and put them back together. They were wonderful together. Plus, he hit it off with everyone on the show especially Anna, Liz and Sonny. Hopefully he can come back one day. There will always be a place for him at GH.
