General Hospital News: Sean Blakemore Lands New Gig With Brad Pitt!

A lot of fans were upset when they found out that fan-favorite Sean Blakemore was leaving “General Hospital.” Fortunately, they were able to catch him playing other roles in different projects. In his recent project, Blakemore will be joining Brad Pitt in the sci-fi movie “Ad Astra” where he would play the role of Willy Levant.

Ad Astra’s Preview Clip

A preview clip of The 20th Century Fox film was recently released. The movie is set on the moon, which has been plagued by pirates. The clip featured the “Moon Rover” sequence wherein Roy McBride, played by Pitt, is riding a rover on the outskirts of the moon and battles pirates in a shootout. Roy loses control of their vehicle and is thrown off the cliff.

Tommy Lee Jones will also appear in the movie. He plays Roy’s father who has been missing after a failed expedition. Roy is determined to find his father and sets out on a mission across the solar system to find out what really happened.

Now, the whole universe is facing a threat thirty years after the doomed expedition of Roy’s father. “Ad Astra” has already been screened in different film festivals and it has received positive responses. Many critics said the film had a “spare and mythic storytelling” and “a stunning, sensitive exploration of the space left by an absent parent.”

The other cast members include Liv Tyler, Ruth Negga, and Donald Sutherland. The movie is scheduled to air in theaters on September 20.

He appeared on “Soul of the Game” in 1996, “The Young and the Restless” in 2004, “Cold Case” and “The Shield,” in 2005, “CSI:NY” in 2006, “Bones” in 2008, “General Hospital” from 2011 to 2015, “13 Reasons Why” in 2018, “American Horror Story: Apocalypse” in 2018, and “Lethal Weapon” in 2019.

He has received several accolades during his gig on “General Hospital.” In 2012, he was nominated for Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.” He got nominated for the same category in 2016 and that time, he managed to bring home the trophy.     Yes, now that Hayden is back and it is felt that Nicolas will return, a short arc should be written to get him out of jail as he did not do the deed for which he was imprisoned. Sean’s return could also bring a different dynamic to the Curtis/Jordan/TJ/Aunt Stella story line if he were to be given a contract. But, an arc would do to clear the canvas of his guilt and prove his innocence.
