General Hospital News: Trent Dawson Lands Exciting New Gig

Trent Dawson, who’s known for his roles on “As The World Turns” and “General Hospital,” joins the cast of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” Season 3.

The American period comedy-drama TV series, which premiered on March 17, 2017 on Prime Video, features Rachel Brosnahan, who plays the role of Miriam “Midge” Maisel. Miriam is a housewife in 1958 New York City who discovers she has a talent for stand-up comedy.

Other cast members include Alex Borstein, Michael Zegen, Marin Hinkle, Tony Shalhoub, and Kevin Pollak. After the show’s pilot episode was a resounding success, Amazon picked up the show and ordered two new seasons. The second season was released on December 5. 2018 while the third season, where Dawson is set to appear, is expected to be released later this year.

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino. In 2017, it won the Gold Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2018.

The lead actress, Brosnahan won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2018 and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy in 2018 and 2019.

Dawson portrayed the role of Henry Coleman on “As The World Turns.” He was initially set to play the part for a few days back in 1999. But his character was a huge hit and his gig was extended to several months and then turned into an indefinite stay.

He then got a contract role in 2005 and during his stay, he earned several nominations for his outstanding performance. When the show ended in 2010,

Dawson appeared on other TV shows including “The Good Wife,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “and “Homeland.” He also appeared in “Castle,” and “Weight” where he worked with former “As The World Turns” co-star, Martha Byrne. A few years later, he joined the cast of “General Hospital” in the recurring role of Huxley Lynch.

Apart from being a talented actor, Dawson is also an excellent director. He worked behind the camera for various plays, including “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds,” “The F,” and “The Immutable.”
