Today on GH – Portia Called Ava For Support

Portia summoned Ava Jerome (Maura West) to her office, where she expressed her anxiety about her upcoming testimony at Willow’s trial.

Ava suggested that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) might want Portia to discuss Drew’s injuries, as she was the doctor who had treated him. She encouraged her friend to stay calm when Portia started to panic. (Make sure to check out our weekly GH spoilers, here!)

Drawing from her own experiences in court, Ava advised Portia to keep her responses minimal if Alexis posed any questions regarding Drew. Ava’s support seemed to calm the nervous doctor down a little bit.

Willow’s Trial Resumed

Meanwhile, as Willow’s trial resumed at the courthouse, Brook Lynn Quartermaine Chase (Amanda Setton) provided Chase with a motivational talk before his testimony.

Dante and Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) questioned the defense’s decision to include Portia as a last-minute witness. Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) informed Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) that she was there with Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) again, likening the trial to a real-life crime show.

Additionally, Alexis revealed to Drew and Willow that her strategy was to demonstrate that the police had apprehended the wrong individual.

Alexis Questioned Chase, Dante Wanted To Talk To Him Afterwards

Alexis started the defense with Chase as the first witness-he said he raised concerns about the PCPD’s investigation into Drew’s shooting, but when they were ignored, he began his own inquiry.

Justine, Dante, and Brook Lynn were worried when Chase mentioned he partly thought Willow was innocent due to the evidence against other suspects.

Justine objected, saying that ‘unnamed suspects’ weren’t on trial, but Alexis clarified that the defense would look into other possible culprits, and the judge agreed.

As Chase continued, he noted that without solid evidence against Willow and seven other suspects, her prosecution seemed unjust; during cross-examination, Turner made Chase admit his private investigation found no evidence to clear Willow. After Chase was dismissed, Dante told the detective to meet him at the station right away.

Martin Lunched With Laura While Michael Lunched With Tracy

While waiting for Laura, Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) glared at Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) in the Metro Court dining room.

When Laura arrived, they discussed her anger over his attempt to take the mansion from Tracy; she still loved him and invited him to Christmas Eve dinner.

Meanwhile, Michael paid for lunch with Tracy, who joked about her perjury for him, something she would remind him of as long as Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) held the house over hers.

Tracy was concerned Alexis might call her back to testify, and Michael said he wouldn’t attend the trial that day to avoid being used by Alexis. He mentioned some jurors looked at him like a spurned lover seeking revenge.

Laura Learns Of Drew’s Heirloom Theft

As Tracy made her way out of the bustling restaurant, she took a moment to pause at the table occupied by Laura and Martin.

With a warm smile, she extended her congratulations to the mayor for her recent reelection victory, commending her for successfully persuading Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to part with his piers.  That was even if the buyer happened to be Jenz Sidwell ( Carlo Rota).

The discussion then shifted to Martin’s recent escapade involving Ronnie Bard (Erika Slezak), prompting Laura to put her brother in a bit of a tight spot, compelling him to offer an apology to Tracy.

In response, Tracy remarked that if Martin was genuinely remorseful, he would confront his “despicable boss” and take action to retrieve the family heirlooms that Drew had taken from them.

Martin Begrudgingly Agreed To Talk To Drew At Laura’s Behest

At the request of his sister, Martin hesitantly decided to talk to Drew, but he left in a huff when Tracy pushed him to do it right away. This was regardless of whether Drew was in court at that moment.

After Martin departed, Laura expressed her surprise that her brother could act so cruelly, and Tracy implied that Laura didn’t know her brother as well as she thought.

When Laura asked how their relationship had become so strained, Tracy dismissed the question, saying she couldn’t recall. “But let’s hope he has finally learned his lesson,” she said with a grin.

Brook Lynn Found Michael At The Restaurant And Filled Him In On The Court Proceedings

Feeling upset after Chase testified, Brook Lynn found Michael at the restaurant and filled him in on the court proceedings.

While she didn’t mention him  by name, Brook Lynn indicated that Chase’s testimony didn’t sit well with Dante. And she feared she had erred in supporting her husband as he pursued the investigation into Drew’s shooting independently.

Although she agreed with Michael’s observation that Chase was defending someone he believed in, Brook Lynn questioned whether her principled husband had chosen the right battle this time. Michael encouraged her not to let Willow and Drew ruin their happiness as they had done to him.

Dante Confronted Chase About His Testimony, The Two Got In A Shouting Match

In the interrogation room at the PCPD, Dante and Chase got in a shouting match about his testimony. Dante claimed that his former partner had undermined the entire department and Chase maintaining he’d only told the truth because Willow shouldn’t be on trial anyway.

Dante accused Chase of not being worthy of the badge, and he retorted that the acting commissioner didn’t deserve to wear it either since Dante had used his position to steer the investigation away from his brother.

When Dante swore that he’d been objective, Chase calmly countered, “I think that you screwed up Michael’s life once before and got him sent to prison. Now, consciously or not, I think this is your way of making sure that that doesn’t happen again.”

Dante Suspended Chase

When Dante declared he was out of line, Chase apologized for bringing up Michael, but maintained that while acting as commissioner, Dante had been determined to point the finger at Willow.

He argued that Dante should have paused the trial while the PCPD investigated Curtis, and Dante rebutted that the traffic footage they had of Willow was damning… and conveniently corrupted.

After challenging Dante to ask him about the video, Chase declared that he didn’t tamper with the footage.

Not satisfied, Dante revealed that Internal Affairs was going to question Chase about the corrupted camera footage and rogue investigation. With that, Dante suspended him!

Ava Went With Portia To The Courthouse For Support

Ava went with Portia to the courthouse, surprising Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali)  when she was called as the defense’s next witness.

As Portia was sworn in, Drew questioned why Alexis brought in the doctor, claiming it would help Willow’s case. Under oath, Portia admitted to using her role as G.H. co-chief-of-staff to falsify test results for Heather Webber (Alley Mills).

Justine objected to this being relevant, but Alexis showed that Drew discovered the test tampering and blackmailed Portia.

After proving Dr. Robinson had a motive (being blackmailed) and means (access to the Quartermaine house during meetings with Monica), Alexis asked Portia where she was when Drew was shot.

Portia’s Affair Was Exposed

Portia insisted she didn’t shoot Drew and avoided giving a clear answer. When the judge ordered her to respond or face contempt, Portia told Alexis she wouldn’t provide the answer she wanted.

She  shocked the courtroom with her tearful confession that she was in a Metro Court hotel room with Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson).

Embarrassed, Portia explained how she leaned on Isaiah during her marriage troubles and apologized to Trina and Curtis for them finding out this way.

Kai chased after Trina when she rushed out of the courtroom, while a heartbroken Curtis stayed as Justine continued questioning Portia.

Drew Forbad Alexis To See Scout During The Holidays

Justine confirmed Portia’s alibi and offered to subpoena Dr. Gannon for confirmation, but Alexis agreed it wasn’t needed, and Portia was dismissed.

When Alexis called her next witness, the judge postponed until after the new year; Justine told the congressman her office would contact him about Portia’s claims. Drew angrily told Alexis he was facing extortion charges because of her and blamed her for ruining Portia’s life

Alexis argued she was trying to create reasonable doubt, while Willow worried the jury might not believe her if she pointed to someone else.

Drew angrily said Alexis wouldn’t get to see Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) during the holidays-Willow was taken aback by her husband’s words and looked at Alexis with sympathy.

Trina Cried To Kai About Her Mother’s Cheating On Her Dad

In the corridor, Trina cried to Kai about her mom betraying her dad and not wanting to talk to Portia when her mother came near.

Curtis interrupted when Portia tried to apologize and asked Kai to take Trina home; Portia then faced Curtis, who wanted to know if the baby was his or Isaiah’s. When she said she wasn’t sure, Curtis accused her of lying again.

“I’m really sorry about this,” Portia cried; “Now that, I believe,” he sighed. “I just don’t care,” he said before leaving. As Portia cried about her ruined life, Ava sat down to give her a comforting hug.

Trina Came To A Horrible Realization, As Paparazzi Descended Upon Drew And Willow

In Kai’s car, Trina cried that she thought her dad cheated on her mom, never considering it could be the other way around, realizing the baby might be Dr. Gannon’s.

A group of reporters waited for Drew and Willow outside the courtroom, asking them about Portia. Drew, saying he had no comment, led a stunned Willow through the crowd.

Back in the courtroom, Alexis was on the phone with Suzanne (Jen Ray) when a man handed her an envelope. She opened it to find an unsigned letter stating that Michael was at Drew’s house the night of the shooting — and Tracy had seen him there!
