Let’s be honest, Nina has been living in a bit of a bubble with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) ever since they came back from Nixon Falls and coupled up.

It’s safe to say the time for turning one’s cheek to the reality of the don’s world has long expired. Nina needs to confront the truth about Sonny’s business world, as well as what his ex-wife — Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) — really means to him. The longer she waits, the more painful it’s going to be when Sonny chooses Carly anyway.

Nina has been panicking for days ever since she realized her move against Carly by reporting her to the SEC could be her undoing. She only intended to make Carly finally pay for some of her crimes. She never wanted Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) to be under fire when he was desperate to bring Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) home to donate her bone marrow to Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen). Knowing she could have had a hand in her own daughter’s demise nearly crippled Nina. Now, she has to make peace with the fact that the truth is likely to eventually come out — and it will ruin everything.

GH Spoilers – Suggest Sonny Corinthos’s Concern For Carly Spencer Ramps Up

Now that Carly is in the line of fire, all of Sonny’s time and energy will be focused on her — the mother of his children. Okay, one of them. Carly cannot go to jail; that would devastate their children. As Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) pointed out, Sonny has a great opportunity here to get full custody of his kids and ride off into the sunset with Nina. Why wouldn’t he take that opportunity? Nina might find herself asking the same question, which won’t make any sense to Ava.

Ava understands Sonny much better than his girlfriend does, apparently. Nina has been so closed off to who Sonny really is that she is unaware of just how deeply he cares for his family. There is nothing he won’t do for them — and that extends to the mothers of his children, whether they’re together or not. Sonny is not going to rest until he learns who turned Carly in, and then he’s going to make them pay. In the end, Sonny always chooses Carly, and Nina will be on the losing end.
