General Hospital Spoilers: Ava Sets Out To Skewer Laura As Word Spreads That Heather Webber Could Go Free

General Hospital spoilers reveal Ava Jerome (Maura West) didn’t waste time upon learning of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) threat to take her to family court over their daughter, Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola). If Sonny wants to get down and dirty over a custody battle, Ava is primed and ready.

Kicking things off, she called upon Laura Collins (Genie Francis) in hopes of securing her alliance for testimony in their custody case. It wasn’t easy to convince Laura to pick a side, but as usual, the Mayor didn’t shy away from doing what she felt was the right thing.

Ava has big plans in store for Laura when she’s done making good use of her allegiance in the name of “family.” When Ava catches wind of just how true the article in The Invader was about Laura’s alliance with someone else — Heather Webber (Alley Mills) — she won’t take it lying down.

Laura was quite overt when she told Ava she better not make her regret picking her side to be on in this custody war.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, that’s just what Ava is going to do — though perhaps not until she secures the testimony she wants from her.

It will burn Ava to hear that Laura is actually considering giving any deference or seeking retribution and justice for someone like Heather. This is the woman who terrorized Ava in her home alongside Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom).

Ava certainly is good at keeping her enemies closer, and that’s just what she’ll be doing with Laura as she butters her up and claims she thinks of her like family.

Heather is unaware of Laura’s fight for the truth. She wants to get to the bottom of whether Heather’s unknown medical condition — metallosis — could have contributed to her more recent crime spree.

Now that Heather has had a new hip replacement installed and is being treated for the cobalt poisoning the old one caused, Laura sees the change in her. In fact, everyone seems to.

Sure, Heather could be faking it to try to induce Laura to advocate for her, but it’s not going to be possible to know that yet. So Laura will continue on the path of doing what she feels is right — even if she’s being duped.

GH Spoilers —A Little Too Late

Ava will not side idly by as Laura makes moves that could release a serial killer back into the streets of Port Charles.

As soon as she gets what she wants from Laura in her fight for custody, she may very well throw her to the wolves, denounce her as “family,” and join the fight to unseat her from office.

Of course, she’ll probably do so strategically in a way that won’t trace back to her right away, but we have a feeling the truth will come out. It always seems to wherever Ava is concerned.
