General Hospital Spoilers: Bobbie Spencer Getting A Love Interest?

Jacklyn Zeman has been playing the role of Bobbie Spencer on “General Hospital” for 42 years. The actress is now calling for her character to have a love interest. Although Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) recently proposed to Bobbie, Zeman said she doesn’t want a pity proposal for her alter-ego.

“I love Bobbie’s diagnosis coming at the same time that Scott’s going through his midlife crisis… but I don’t’ want some pity proposal,” she said.

Zeman revealed that she’s received several comments from used-to-be married women in their 40s who are now back to dating. She explained, “Love never ends, and they want to see that potential. There’s an opportunity there for our writers — and I would love to play that! Get Bobbie on a dating app. I could tell you some stories from my real life, because I’m single. Oh, my gosh! The writers could go crazy with this.”

Although she’s ecstatic at the idea of her character getting on a dating app, she’s also not leaving Scott out of the picture.

“They have always had that attraction and sexual spark,” she maintained. “I think they could make it work.” Whether her alter ego finally gets the new romance she deserves, it’ll all depend on the show’s writers.

General Hospital Spoilers – Bobbie: Then and Now

Zeman debuted her character back in 1977 after she played the role of Lana McClain on “One Life to Live.” Since her debut on the ABC soap opera, she’s continued to play her character until July 2010. She reprised her role in 2013 and has been on and off the show ever since. Bobbie hasn’t had that much screen time last year.

Recently, the character, who’s always been seen taking care of patients, has been given a medical story of her own. Bobbie was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Zeman was thrilled with the storyline. She said, Diabetes is out there, and it’s rampant.” When she heard about the story, Zeman immediately did her research.

“When I heard, I went online and read all about it so I would actually understand what it meant — because Bobbie’s a nurse! I like when we do things correctly, because TV sets are all over hospitals, so we have a big audience in the healthcare profession,” she said. “You’ve got to get it right. Plus, it’s important to get the word out so people can recognize the symptoms,” she continued.
