General Hospital Spoilers: Brenda Barrett Suffers Same Fate As Kristina Corinthos, Recast Coming?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that another recast may be on the horizon for the ABC soap opera. Actress Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda Barrett) recently conducted a Tik Tok live, and some comments she made during this have had fans buzzing ever since. According to Marcil, she recently declined the daytime drama when they approached her about reprising her legendary Brenda Barrett role.

General Hospital Spoilers – Vanessa Marcil Gave The Show “Her Blessing”

During the Tik Tok live session, Marcil also notes that when a recast of Brenda Barrett came up, Vanessa gave GH’s producers her full blessing to do so. This means that if the show decides to bring Brenda back, Ms. Barrett could be sporting an entirely new look.

With that said, Brenda was one of Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) greatest loves and bringing Barrett back could cause major drama in the little town. Especially with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) walking on eggshells now and hiding the fact that she was the one who tipped SEC authorities. As Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), a returning Brenda Barrett could offer some romantic competition to Nina and would create an interesting love triangle arc for the mob boss

GH Spoilers – Fans Are Still Reeling Over Kristina Corinthos Recast

Could Brenda return in the form of a recast? Viewers are still digesting the news that actress Kate Mansi, most well-known for her Days of Our Lives Abigail Deveraux character, will be taking on the Kristina Corinthos-Davis role. Actress Lexi Ainsworth, current Kristina, hit social media recently to thank fans for their support, and the message around GH exit did seem like it was more the show’s idea than hers.

With that said, Vanessa did turn down a General Hospital comeback, so if the writers came up with an epic Brenda Barrett return storyline, a recast would be their only choice.

I was never a fan of Vanessa Marcil as Brenda. I’m 100% open to a recast. The character would be a welcome addition.

NOOOO to a recast!!!! Vanessa Marcil IS Brenda. She and Maurice have incomparable chemistry! Just put Sonny and Carly back together and be done with it. Not liking the Kristina recast idea either. She was the only Davis girl that “clicked” with Sonny as well.

Kristina clicked with Sonny as he is her dad. Sam clicked with Sonny at one time as they involved. That leaves Molly who is too young to have clicked with Sonny

Totally agree. The Father/Daughter relationship will suffer with this recast as well as the demise of the Davis girl chemistry.

Brenda’s role is going to be hard for someone to fill (especially for S&B lovers). They tried that with Lois, didn’t work. I wish Vanessa would come back and stay. S&B 4eva.

It would be Great to bring Brenda back to Port Charles !!! I would love to see how Nina reacts to this… it would really get her rattling!!!

I love the new Christina I really did care for the character unit the new girl came and I really don’t care for Brenda at all so it don’t matter to me about a recast

All I”m going to say is this; If they recast Brenda, someone has a helluva pair of shoes to fill. I’m going to say impossible. Vanessa, I need you back.
