General Hospital Spoilers – Brook Lynn Quatermaine Uses A Child

After Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) accused Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) of using Leo to get on Ned’s (Wally Kurth) good side and get those ELQ shares, she turns around and does what she accuses Austin of when she uses Leo to try to get Austin in trouble.

We saw Brook Lynn look like she allowed Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) to convince her that Austin might have a genuine concern for Leo, but it turns out she was just trying to get Austin to discuss Leo’s medical issues with someone who isn’t his parent so she could get him fired from General Hospital for violating HIPAA laws. (HIPAA laws forbid doctors from discussing your medical issues with other people. It doesn’t mean other people can’t ask you for your medical records.)

When Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) overhears the conversation between Brook Lynn and Austin she is furious at the idea that Austin would think Leo might have autism. Since it’s the first time she is even hearing the word despite Ned dancing around the subject, it seriously has her in freak-out mode. But, she is about to freak out even more.

GH Spoilers – Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s Plan Infuriates Olivia Quartermaine

When Brook Lynn gets Olivia alone, she tells her stepmother that they finally have something on Austin that could prevent him from getting any ELQ shares and Olivia is horrified that Brook would be thinking more about ELQ than what Austin said about Leo. She isn’t thinking about the family business or HIPAA laws at the moment. She is thinking about the fact that a medical doctor suspects her little boy might be on the autism spectrum.

Until now, Olivia has been in denial all this time that Leo might need to see a specialist and has become angrier at Ned as he’s pushed the issue more. But Ned’s concerns about Leo are from a genuine paternal place. Will this be the thing that makes Olivia start taking Austin more seriously, ELQ be damned.
