General Hospital Spoilers: Carly Marries Sonny To Save Her Relationship With Drew?

General Hospital spoilers hint Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is going to take the plunge and reignite a love affair she thought she had left behind her. Of course, when she takes the first step — marrying Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) for the fifth time — she won’t be feeling anything but heartache. The SEC is going to push Sonny to testify against his ex-wife and the only way to make sure that doesn’t happen is to make her his blushing bride once again.

Taking the heat off of Carly and Drew as a couple can’t hurt either. But Carly will have a difficult time getting Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) to believe her decision to marry Sonny has nothing to do with lingering feelings and everything to do with saving her relationship with Drew.

General Hospital Spoilers — Sonny Corinthos Saved The Day, Sort Of

Thanks to Sonny and his connections, General Hospital spoilers show Carly was able to walk out of the PCPD unscathed and a wild goose chase looking for Drew lent the family more time to get Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) home to donate her bone marrow to Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen). But that is hardly the end of their troubles.

These two are in hot water and it doesn’t seem like they’ll be getting out of it anytime soon, and Sonny’s involvement in the mess is only going to complicate things further.

GH Spoilers – Tease Diane Miller Gives Carly Spencer A Way Out

Carly couldn’t help but roll her eyes as Sonny once again took charge of the situation at hand. She found it frustrating that he always seemed to insert himself into her life, but at the same time she couldn’t deny the rush of relief she felt when he came to her rescue.

It was like having a safety net — one that she resented even as she clung to it. She knew she had to be careful though, lest she fall back into her old habits of idolizing him.

It has served her well to remain cognizant of what he did to her; when she doesn’t, she has a tendency to romanticize their time together.

So it’s going to be particularly concerning to Carly when Diane relays that her best bet is marrying Sonny. It’ll make it look like the relationship with Drew was a nothing burger while making sure Sonny can’t be compelled to testify against her about her insider trading deal and her attempts to conceal it. Is this really the only way?

Drew isn’t going to take kindly to the news that Carly may have to marry Sonny, but he’ll be far more upset at the realization that she is actually considering it.

Carly may try to explain that she knows the alternative — marrying Drew — sounds lovely, but she doesn’t want to ruin what they have by rushing into a marriage they wouldn’t otherwise be jumping into.
