General Hospital spoilers leak Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is a mother at her wits’ end. She yearns for her daughter’s love but feels that she is constantly falling short. In a last-ditch attempt to pursue a connection to Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), she will turn to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) —- someone who is not her usual confidante. After all, Carly has a reputation for being a bit of a firecracker, and these two have done nothing but butt heads since Carly practically stole Nina’s daughters from her, and Nina essentially stole Carly’s husband. Still, desperation makes people do strange things, and Nina knows that if anyone can help her reconnect with her daughter, it’s Carly.

There is no denying that Willow is fond of Carly, the mother-in-law of her dreams. If Carly can put her own pride aside and meet Nina in the middle, perhaps Willow will be willing to give Nina another chance at being the mother she longs to be. It’s going to take a lot for Nina to get up the nerve to admit the one person she hates more than anything in the world is the apple of her daughter’s eye. Will Carly recognize that and refrain from gloating?

Willow might have put her hopes for peace on display, but that doesn’t mean Carly has the bandwidth to tackle such a task right now. Steering clear of Nina is easy for Carly; she wants nothing to do with her anyway. Even refraining from clapping back at insults and attempts to get her goat are doable, but help Nina get closer to Willow? Now that’s asking a bit too much! We can expect that Carly will just sit there — stunned. She won’t be able to believe that Nina has the audacity to ask her for help.

Here is this woman who has caused her family nothing but pain and frustration, and now she is hoping Carly will come to her aid and help her breathe life into the non-existent relationship she doesn’t have with her daughter? It’s far more likely that Carly will have a good laugh and rub salt in all of Nina’s wounds. But Willow asked for peace and that’s exactly what Carly is going to give her. So for her daughter-in-law’s sake, Carly will let herself feel the sympathy that is trying to break through her ironclad heart — she’s not that cold, after all — and she will try to finesse some closure of the gap between mother and daughter enough to help Nina bond with Willow.

Carly knows a mother’s love and she’s not blind to the fact that Nina can both be a monster in her eyes and someone’s loving mother at the same time. After all, Carly has done her fair share of dirty deeds over the years, and that never negated how she felt about her children. Does Nina deserve to know Willow the way Carly does? That’s not for Carly to decide. She’s going to usher in a way to bridge the gap and help mother and daughter just in time for it to blow up in all of their faces. When Carly finds out from Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) that it was Nina who reported her to the SEC, heads will roll, and Willow may never talk to her again.
