Curtis may switch things up when it comes to where he’ll serve his sentence, so let’s discuss some complications to come.
For starters, the show has established that Curtis is in danger for multiple reasons at Pentonville.
Between Curtis’ past in law enforcement and the fact that he’s in Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) orbit, his safety is in jeopardy.
That’ll be proven when Curtis gets tangled up in an attack meant for Sidwell behind bars. It’ll be serious enough for Curtis to land in the ICU, but there could be a silver lining in the end.
Curtis’ new attorney could easily use this situation to argue that his client isn’t safe at Pentonville and deserves to be transferred.
Perhaps this lawyer will fight for Curtis to serve his sentence on house arrest instead.

Curtis will be up for parole in two years, so his attorney may contend that he should be able to stay alive and healthy until then.
Since Curtis is also the dad of an infant, that could come into play, too.

There could be some crucial clues about where Curtis’ storyline is headed and how it’ll affect Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) as well as Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr).
“Portia and Isaiah try to move forward together with Dez, but without Curtis looming over them,” Van Etten and Korte.

What if this “outrageous request” involves Curtis moving in with Portia on house arrest?
Curtis’ lawyer might argue that if he wants the best chance at getting this arrangement approved by a judge, he’d better play happy family with Portia and Desmond Ashford (Yirah Aviah Lafond).
The goal may be to make the judge think that Curtis is getting back together with Portia and that he’s needed as a full-time father in the home they’ll share.
That news could throw Portia and Isaiah for a loop right along with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper), so some great drama could come out of this scenario.
