If his child was maltreated and mishandled by Lily’s family, it’s not difficult to imagine him harboring deep-seated resentment towards Sonny for his role in this tragic turn of events, or for not being around for his childhood. Lily’s father hated Sonny and wanted him dead, but things played out as though Lily got the car bomb meant for the then-young mobster. What if that was all a ruse to convince Sonny his wife and child were gone forever when they were actually taken from him?
