General Hospital Spoilers spill Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) made an absolute mockery of himself in the courtroom today as Willow Tait Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) watched him carry on.
Drew was seething in delight word after word as he lambasted Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and sought to manipulate the jury into seeing his point of view. His ego and ruthlessness were on full display and could have cost Willow her freedom.
Now that we know it was her all along who shot him, I have to wonder whether the discovery that he bribed Judge Eva Heran (Tessa Auberjonois) will leave Willow ready to head for the hills, or take much more serious action.
Cutting Ties with Congressman Cutthroat
Willow let her mother, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros, in on a little secret on the day she married Drew.
Just as she had shared with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), she was saying I do to preserve her shot at getting the charges against her dropped, and recouping custodial rights to her kids.
That’s all that matters to Willow, even if it means she has to suck it up and pretend to be in love with Drew right now. So when will she tell him otherwise? When will she risk everything to tell him the truth — that it was all a lie?
Willow Must Remain Composed
Right now, Willow is in the fight of her life trying to stay out of prison for a crime that, as it turns out, she actually did commit. Drew may not be the most solid of anchors to be tethered to, but it’s the only one she has.
Breaking from him right now would send a message of weakness and vulnerability that the prosecution could poke at. Furthermore, she may then have to contend with Drew, because no one can predict how he’ll handle hearing Willow has used him all of this time.
Timing is Everything
When the time is right, I think Willow might really let Drew have it. Some viewers are predicting this means Willow might try to finish the job she started when she shot the Congressman in cold blood.
Others think it’ll be easier for him to kill him some other way though, like a poison that can’t be traced, a medication mix-up, a cut brake line, and so on.
No one would ever suspect the wife who stood by him through that trial and testified that she didn’t blame him for her custody loss.
Willow is currently setting the stage so that she will look like nothing more than a dutiful wife who trusted her husband, and it may make her the least likely suspect should he later drop dead.
What do you see happening in the aftermath of this trial if she is found not guilty? Sound off in the comments and stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
