General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is prepared to gather his belongings and relocate himself and Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) to DC without delay.
Viewers are wondering if this is a clue that Drew’s time on the ABC soap is coming to end and they’ll get their wishes-no more Drew!
Shocking Exit Plans, Does Drew Even Care About Scout?
We’re going to discuss Drew’s plan to take his daughter Scout away from her family and leave Port Charles for good; but is it really going to happen?
Let’s go over the warning signs that suggest Congressman Cutthroat might be leaving. The first sign is clear: everyone on the show hates Drew, and it seems most of the GH fans feel the same way.
Many viewers are wishing for Cameron Mathison to leave so he can focus on other projects, especially since Drew is involved in a murder mystery. They’re just hoping to see him written off the show, preferably the victim.

Why The Fans Hate Drew So Much
Honestly, let’s be real- Scout’s dad just keeps getting worse; people already dislike him for how he messed up Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) marriage to Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson).
Since that incident, he has been constantly manipulating and deceiving Willow, and he has engaged in all sorts of shady actions.
Drew bribed someone at the burn clinic in Germany to falsely claim that Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) refused to meet with her.
Drew even traumatized Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) by saying terrible things within his hearing range, and was scheming to frame Michael as an opioid addict.

He has blackmailed Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), and now Drew is targeting Stella Henry (Vernee Watson); it’s just a long list of terrible actions.
Scout’s Family Visit And Danny’s Almost Arrest
This week, Drew really went overboard with his demands when he insisted Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) arrest Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) for taking his little sister Scout to the Q mansion.
He had picked her up at camp and Scout had asked Danny to take her to the Quartermaine mansion for a visit.
Drew attempted to pressure Chase into arresting Danny Morgan right in front of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn).
Both of them were shocked, and fans felt the same way; even Chase wasn’t on board with it. He recognized that this was just another one of Drew’s personal grudges, and he put a stop to it.
Drew Doesn’t Pay Much Attention To Scout
Drew often leaves Scout at home with the nanny while he attends to his busy congressman duties and engages in various questionable activities. Chase outright refused to arrest Danny.
However, he did caution the teenager that if the camp had called 911, someone else likely would have intervened and arrested him.
The situation would have unfolded very differently since he took Scout from camp without signing her out, without informing anyone, and certainly without her father’s consent.
What was particularly outrageous was when Alexis Davis suggested that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) would want Scout Cain to be with her brother Danny Morgan and the rest of the family.
We witnessed Drew’s cold demeanor when he told Alexis that Sam is gone and that he is the one who makes the decisions; “Sam’s dead. I’m the only parent here.”
Alexis Fights For Custody
It was really quite awful, bringing back memories for Alexis of everything she has lost; now, she’s on the verge of losing even more because of him. Drew plunged to new depths by banning Alexis, Danny, and anyone else in the family from seeing or contacting Scout from that moment onward.
Alexis was completely shaken since she loves Scout dearly, and she represents the last piece of Sam that Alexis Davis has, who, tragically, was murdered last year. Scout is that final fragment of Sam left to Alexis Davis, and she’s going to fight for her if she has to kill Drew!
Drew’s Rush To Move Scout To DC, No Matter What Scout Wants Or Thinks!
This week, Drew Cain believes the best option is for him and Scout to relocate to DC as soon as they can.
Drew is eager to just pack up and leave, regardless of Scout’s feelings; that’s another warning sign. The expression on Alexis Davis’s face when Drew kicked them out and stormed off was deadly serious.
Remember, Alexis Davis has taken a few lives-she killed the man who murdered her sister – Luis Alcazar (Ted King). She also ran over the man who was abusing Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi, then Lexie Ainsworth); so, never underestimate Alexis Davis.
Cameron Mathison’s Anniversary Starts Exit Rumors
This week, another warning sign is that it marks the 4th anniversary of Cameron Matheson’s debut on General Hospital as the recast Drew. If Cameron Mathison were to leave, an anniversary would typically be a common time for that.
Characters are often written out or recast when an actor’s contract ends, which usually lasts between 1 to 3 years, or sometimes 3 years with an option for a 1-year extension. This timing fits with the 4 years he has been part of the show.
However, even with these warning signs and fans on soap social media daily hoping for Drew’s demise, most likely he isn’t going anywhere, at least not for a while and certainly not at this moment.
It’s Doubtful Cameron Is Going Anywhere Or Drew’s Being Killed Off
It appears unlikely that Cameron Mathison will be leaving. At best, Frank Valentini might put the character on hold while he considers moving away with Scout, only to have a change of heart.
However, remember that later this week in the official General Hospital spoilers, Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) makes a strong effort to persuade Drew to lift the ban on Scout being part of the family and taking her away from Port Charles.
As a lawyer, Molly could make a solid, composed argument with clear facts that might sway Drew’s decision. However, it’s not the end of the story just yet-the pieces seem to be in place for Drew to leave eventually, by one method or another.
The Ducks In A Row
On one hand, it certainly appears that everything is set for Drew to exit—whether that means he will leave town or something seriously unfortunate happens, leading to his demise.
Willow Tait has ended their relationship and Drew is required to be in DC for work, and he wishes for Scout to be distanced from the family.
He has angered more than one local crime boss, including Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his right-hand man Jason, along with Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). However, on the flip side, Frank Valentini seems to have a strong liking for Cameron Mathison.
If a showrunner favors an actor, that character remains in the show regardless of fan dislike; fans have disliked Drew for a long time, and Frank Valentini seems indifferent.
Some Of Drew’s Challenges May Be Resolved
Regarding some of Drew’s other challenges, they might be resolved. Molly could help make peace between Drew and Alexis and address the Scout situation-concerning Willow, Drew might manipulate her into reconciling with him.
With Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) pushing his father, Sidwell, to expose the judge bribery scandal to damage Sonny’s reputation, Willow might obtain partial custody of her children, if not full custody.
The case will be assigned a new judge, who may view Michael’s father’s bribery very unfavorably. They could hold Michael responsible and return the kids to Willow.
Willow Could Get Her Children Back, Plus Drew Wouldn’t Be Killed Off Before Monica’s Memorial
If she manages to get Wiley and Amelia Grace Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko) back, and Drew helps, that could be a big reason why Willow starts to warm up to Drew. Willow is impressionable because she grew up in a cult, so she could easily change her mind.
Additionally, since we know that General Hospital is planning to kill off Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) character this fall, around October or November.
Erika Slezak is reportedly coming in to play her sister, it’s hard to believe that Drew would leave just as a Quartermaine character is about to die.
