General Hospital Spoilers: Elizabeth Hendrickson Reveals How She Got Her New GH Job

General Hospital star Elizabeth Hendrickson is opening up about her new character in Port Charles, Margaux Dawson. Margaux is the new DA in town and she is making it her mission to put Carly behind bars, but this is mostly because she wants to settle an old score with Sonny.

Even though Elizabeth is best known for her role as Chloe on The Young and the Restless, she says that her jump to Port Charles has been nothing less than exciting. The talented actress also noted that playing Margaux has been a huge shift from what she is used to. It’s the first time that she’s played a character that is as tough as Margaux.

According to Soap Opera Digest, Elizabeth said, “It’s really fun to play such a strong female character, especially in a time like today. I mean, Chloe was definitely ballsy in some ways, but she was a stylist, not a DA! She was a little more catty and theatrical whereas I find Margaux to be more grounded and well-read, someone who is going to do everything in her power to get to the top.”

She also added that the rest of the General Hospital cast has been incredibly accommodating and that she couldn’t have asked for a better group of co-stars to work with. According to Elizabeth, after the Emmy’s Fran Valentini called her and offered her the job then and there, she never had to audition or do any screen tests. It sounds like he really loved her work on Y&R!

Speaking about Laura Wright, who plays Carly, Elizabeth said, “She is someone I had always wanted to work with. I love working with really strong women, and I can only grow and get better as an actress working with an iconic actress like her.”
