ABC General Hospital spoilers reveal the fantastic news that the ABC sudser is ready to roll out new episodes on Monday, August 3 after returning to work and cranking out new episodes after the cast and crew returned to the set under strict new Covid-19 pandemic safety rules and guidelines.

GH marks a milestone with its return as it is ABC’s first scripted drama to get back on the air. To do so safely, however, they have been subjected to grueling pandemic safety regulations.

The executive producer of the show, Frank Valentini, said that when cast and crew began returning after four months away, the thing he heard most was, “I’m so happy to see you! I wish I could hug you.” Of course, hugging is not allowed under the social distancing rule, so maybe they bumped elbows from afar instead?

GH Spoilers – There Will Be No Hugs On The Set Of GH!

Valentini added, “A lot of fans were, like, ‘When are you coming back? When are you coming back?’ It took that long to establish the protocols and to think through every step of the production process.”

What was involved in the new regimen? Before anyone could walk through the doors, a COVID-19 test was required with negative results mandatory. Testing will continue for the foreseeable future and Valentini says masks are now required at all times, except when filming a scene.

Also, the degree of physical intimacy is limited with Valentini saying, “We’re going to leave a lot more to the imagination.”

Additionally, the set has two COVID advisors available to ensure that the safety protocols are being enforced and to ensure that nothing is done to put anyone’s health on the line.

Fans will not want to miss the Monday, August 3rd episode as it picks up right where the show left off when it resorted to airing encore episodes due to running out of original content.

“The very first few seconds of the show, I think,” said Valentini, “will blow a lot of the audience’s mind because there’s a big surprise that we inserted in.” How is that for a teaser GH fans?!

Is he talking about the custody case or the very sad Alzheimer’s plot?

Valentini said that the latter storyline will wrap in a couple of months. But there is still the bombshell custody case of which he says, “And there is a bang and a surprise and a twist and it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Also, the annual Nurses’ Ball will return in August!
