GH Alum Announced A Loved One’s Passing

Melgar wrote on Instagram, “I am writing this before actually being ready to …as so many are reaching out. I thank you all for the love and support. I am still processing such a tragic loss. So please bear with me. I post some memories throughout our years together … our wedding being one of the happiest … most perfect days of my life …in memory of the man that was my husband … Sofia’s father … a friend for decades … my family .. a man who never truly accepted his brilliance … he was so incredibly gifted …. and now .. he’s gone. . My only consolation is that his soul is free and in peace. Even though we got divorced in June of 2019 (for those that didn’t know) .. this is an unbearable loss and the pain of acceptance is downright crippling. #RIP Robert Monterrosa. May your soul fly free”.

Melgar has been well-known to daytime soap opera viewers for her years on General Hospital and as Claudia Cortez on The Bold and the Beautiful. She is also very well-known for her role as Janice Ramos on The Bay, an Emmy award-winning web drama series that has been around for a number of years.

General Hospital Alum Lilly Melgar Is An Emmy-Award Winning Actress

She is also an Emmy award-winning actress. Additionally, she played Angelica Louis on Ladies of the Lake. She also works hard as a producer and director. There’s no doubt that Melgar is missed on soaps. Fans would love to see her one day reprise her role on General Hospital and be reunited with her onscreen love, Maurice Benard’s Sonny Corinthos.

Melgar and Monterrosa were married in February 2013. They have one daughter together, Sofia Elizabeth who was born in 2005 and is now 15 years old. This news is quite shocking. It is truly sad to hear of his passing and we, of course, send our thoughts and love to the family during this very difficult time.
